What's it feel like to be a ghost?

A review of Ghost Writer-the new Roman Polanski film.

This was truly a great film. It might also caught my attention as a great film because I saw Repo Men just the night before, but that review will be saved for when I finish that respective book (p.s. that movie sucked). Anyways...

Ghost Writer stars Ewan Mcgregor as the new ghost writer of Adam Lang's (Pierce Brosnan) auto-biography. The plot gets moving quickly because Ewan's character is replacing a man who held his position just a few weeks prior before he was found washed up on the side of a beach. Interesting? Very.

The movie is 90% talking chased with a shot of a few chases, but somehow way more exciting than two men disemboweling the world. Pierce Brosnan's character is a former British prime minister whom recently has been accused of terrible war crimes when he was in office. All of this occurs while Ewan is just trying to make his book more interesting. The work is practically done for him.

It has a great ending and is filled to the brim with interesting characters. I saw this movie on a whim and I am more than happy with myself for doing so. Great movie.

5/5 Stars

So long, and thanks for all the fish.

The end of an era has come and gone. My tenure at Books-a-Million is at a close and now I dare ask...where to next? I'm going to job hunt, but I won't stop short until I am flying my own rocket ship. A rocket ship made completely of oreos. They may be silly dreams, but dreams they remain.

The good news is the fact that I have this entire to week to do absolutely nothing productive. I'd start on my Nabisco rocket, but who has the time, really? Tonight I am going out to use my rights as a 21 year old and hopefully I will return with a tale. The one thing I am excited for though is this coming monday:

We are Scientists is playing at Bottle tree and I am pretty damn stoked. I think a little trickle just went down my...anyways. Friday, I am seeing Repo Men, so perhaps all is well in this camp. Now, I just need a job so I can afford all of those damn cookies.

Things Tommy has seen lately:

Movies: I saw "Alice" the other day and much to my surprise and the whining of other friends--I enjoyed it.

Books: I just finished The Gates by John Connoly and if you can, read this book now. It is hilarious. It combines a beautiful double edged sword both attacking Christianity and Science with one quick slice, while remaining light hearted at the same time.

Until next time....Keep the Opium on your chicken.
